What is PHP?
PHP (a recursive acronym for PHP Hypertext Preprocessor) is a server-side scripting language, designed to allow web developers to quickly and easily generate powerful dynamic websites. It includes a vast function library providing easy access to advanced text processing features, database connectivity, image manipulation, and much more.
Prerequisites
You should have:
  • A basic working knowledge of HTML.
  • A web server capable of processing PHP pages. Many web hosting providers allow PHP scripts. Alternatively, you can download the free Apache web server and PHP to install on your own server. If you're only experimenting or developing on your own computer, you might want to have a look at XAMPP.
